top games consoles in 2014

The only games I can recall playing on mobile that were truly good were ports from older games, and one that has a base price of $15... Nintendo would be courting the people who used to play their games, but, don't want to buy a game console. It's not as fast as the PS4 or XB1 but it is faster than the last gen consoles. They are treading on thin ice, but as stated before, Nintendo is the staple of the gaming industry, if any company can make a comeback, Nintendo is at the top of the list.

Comparing this to current and past consoles is irrelevant. Unlike other game consoles the Wii involves you utterly, by it's physical human connection. You don't just sit there pressing a series of buttons like with most video game consoles.

Just yesterday, during Nintendo's anemic quarterly earnings call , it appeared that the Japanese video game company was happy to sit back and take a slow-and-steady approach with the Wii U and 3DS consoles.

The company forecast Wii U sales will recover to 3.6 million units this fiscal year, with sales of 20 million software titles as games including Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. The company forecast Wii U sales will recover to 3.6 million units this fiscal year with sales of 20 million software titles as games including Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. And several orders of magnitude more games than either of the top consoles.

I have so much love for Nintendo and to be honest, I think Wii U will shoot up in sales with all the things Nintendo are doing. I don't think the same can be said for the 3DS version. Nintendo consoles offer the newest technology coupled with the best games so there is something for everyone no matter if you are an advanced gamer or just getting started.

The Wii is the second most recent Nintendo system. Iwata stated that any future home and portable consoles would be ‘like brothers' - as well as being integrated with the new QOL platform. Weak Wii U sales left Nintendo booking a loss for the third straight year and intensified the clamour from investors for a change in tack as new consoles from rivals Sony and Microsoft reap market share.

Yamauchi, when he announced the Nintendo GameCube , stated that people don't buy a console for the console, they buy it for the game they want. If Nintendo made a console that rivaled the power of the ps4 and xbox one, it would come down to the games, that which Nintendo does better than anyone else. Nintendo is renting significant floor space at the event, however, including an area set aside for a tournament to promote its much-anticipated fighting title Super Smash Bros 4, due for release on the Wii U and 3DS later this year.

Transfer and play... Wii owners who have already downloaded a title can transfer them to their Wii U consoles and play them in Wii Mode at no charge. They can keep the handheld but for the love of god go third party for home consoles. I have a Wii U, I love it and it has great games on it. I also have a PS4 and an Xbox One (I love collecting consoles what can I say) and I can honestly say you need to want to play Nintendo games to want a Wii U. It's a great system but coming out with sub-par hardware specs has been slowly taking its toll on Nintendo in my opinion.

So I don't want a new Nintendo console for a few years because I bought a Wii U and a 3DS when they were new and I don't want to have to replace them for another 5 years. With the upcoming games (Mario Kart, Smash Bros); Nintendo will be back on track. The Nintendo 3DS was the top selling console in 2013 , but that has done little to alleviate the very tangible realization that the Wii U. Nintendo has already cut its projected 2014 Wii U sales from 9 million to 2.4 million units.
The Wii / ˈ w iː / is Nintendo's seventh-generation video game console The system's code name was "Revolution", and as with the Nintendo GameCube, this reference appears on the console and its accessories.

Even as technology has evolved over the years, development time of Nintendo consoles has mostly remained the same. Nintendo needs adverts telling people which consoles came out and what Generation they are - leading up to Wii U as an 8th Generation console and then showing clips of games.

The following chart, created by Statista , shows in further detail the rise and fall of Nintendo home gaming consoles sales since 1998. Since its release in November 2012, Nintendo has sold just 6.2 million Wii U, while Sony shifted 7 million Playstation 4 consoles within five months of its November 2013 launch. Hopefully these new strategies, along with the release of Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros.

In some markets, sales of the PS4 have outnumbered the Xbox One by an enormous five consoles to one. Be sure to check out our list of the 25 all-time best GameCube games. The much-loved GameCube was, in fact, one of Nintendo's least successful consoles.
